Hello everyone!
We had a great doctor's visit once again today. we are very lucky to be having such a wonderful
experience so far, thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. So, to fill you in on what's been happening...
Lil mama Lauren came down with a pretty bad head cold and near sinus infection this past week, but got some
meds to help with it and she's doing better. I think it jumped from her shnyder over to mine. Thanks hun. Baby BOY
Schmidgall has been making sure mama knows he's there after Lauren eats and every night around 10:00.
He's definitely active, I was lucky enough to feel him kick on Monday of this week which was pretty sweet!
Also, you can see him ever so slightly make mama's stomach move now and then. Very cool stuff...definitely makes
it very real! We have also got the crib assembled and have started accumulating our baby needs inventory.
The other cool thing is that we are very close to having our name selection down to 2 or 3, we actually agree on this, now
food, that's whole different story. (I have good taste, Lauren's is questionable at times. =)) BUT, we are going to wait until
JUNE to let you all know what the final final name is for our little baby boy. I have also started planning my training for the
little big man for world domination. But, that is top secret.
Ok, back to today's appointment. We were both pretty excited all week so when the time came to start the ultrasound
we were both pretty shmiley! Today, baby had his arms above his head during the ultrasound, just like both Lauren and I sleep
so we may have caught him at nap time to start. Dr. Lo continued to measure out the cabasa or head and femur, check the heart, kidneys, the different parts of the spine, footsies, and hands, ALL of which came back very normal. We took numerous pictures and got to see baby open and close his mouth a few times, pretty cool. He did a test to guestimate the weight of the baby, it involved measuring the femur and the knoggin and it equated to the baby being 1lb 8oz at 24 weeks. Average at this time is 1lb 4oz so he's right on track. He moved quite a bit during the ultrasound which was very cool to see on the big screen. Dr. Lo also said that this time he was 95% sure it's a boy...he won't go above that but assured us he has not been wrong about it in 10 years so we are pretty sure he's right. If not, he and I will have words. =)
So there ya go mama and baby are doing great, I am doing well too, thanks for asking. We are right on track for development and all other aspects! Our next appointment is March 26th in which they will test for gestational diabetes. Lauren gets to drink some go juice that looks like orange cool-aid but probably taste like the inside of a shoe.
We also, picked a baby doctor, Dr. Evans in Carroll. He has 5 boys of his own and coaches TEE-ball for Ayden, so he knows what's up then, we're golden there.
