Kane's 1st Christmas....

I can't believe Christmas is over already! Well, the actual holiday anyway...we still have a couple more family celebrations coming up. We have had 3 already! Thursday the 23rd we went to Missouri Valley to see my mom's side. Kane got to meet his cousin Chase who is about 2.5 months younger, weighs about the same and has a full head of hair! It was fun seeing them together. I made the mistake of not bringing my camera so you'll have to check out Facebook to see if my any pictures of this meeting are posted. We came back to Carroll that night and my mom and sister stayed here with us. Christmas eve we celebrated with my mom and stepdad and had our annual steak and crab legs...yummy! Then Christmas day my dad came up and we had the always wonderful taco bar! Fish tacos AND regular tacos...my dad only knows how to cook for an army so we'll be eating tacos for the next week! =)
The weather didn't get too crazy so everyone was able to travel safely. Kane got tons of great gifts...lots of new toys to play with! We got him a bubble maker to use in the bathtub but when we tried it last night he was scared of it! He actually was on the verge of tears! In his defense, it wasn't the quietest thing in the world. All in all it was a great Christmas and we are so glad that we could all spend it together. We had a lot of fun and Kane's 1st Christmas was a success. He didn't act too interested in the wrapping paper but he enjoyed the bows and tissue paper. This week we have my stepdad's family Christmas and Saturday we have Cory's family Christmas. The weekend after is our last one, the Rhoten Christmas (my dad's side). Cory will be posting video of Christmas and a couple other things and here are some pictures as usual! =)

Trying to get into the presents early

1st time in the pool!

Checkin each other out

Helping Mom out with her laundry

Santa's little helper and his new loot

Loved this toy from Aunt Claire. He kept smiling at himself in the mirror.

Found another bow

Quit putting the bows on my head Mom!

Christmas, crawling, and peas?

The first clip is of Kane eating peas. Now, he's eaten peas before but for some reason this night he wasn't quite a fan of them. The reaction is priceless...until he figured out how to spit them at Mom! The second clip is of Kane on the move...self explanatory!

Kane's 1st Christmas! We opened gifts on Christmas Eve with my mom. It was getting close to being dinner time for Kane so that explains why Mom is hurrying through the gifts. Kane was pretty indifferent at first and apparently didn't burp very well after his bottle judging from the spit up! Once we got to the toys he was a little bit more interested. Enjoy!

6 Months already!

Hey guys...it's been about a month since we wrote so here's what has been going on
with little big man.
He is rolling around the living room with ease and does not stop for more than
about a second while doing so. He can sit up a little bit here and there but he just wants to be on the move so sitting will be a concept we will have to work on down the road. (must get that from his mom) Also, he is bouncing around like a mad man in the Jumperoo. I think you'll see some 'down' time in the video of him screaming at his Jumperoo toys. A blood curdling scream that will only leave the neighbors wondering. I think he loves hearing himself, again, like his mom. =) Yes, this is Cory writing. He is saying the 'goos' and 'gahs' and he says "HEY" which you'll see in the video. Eating wise, he has been doing wellwith with the rice cereal so we started to introduce vegies. So, of course, mom and dad were excited to see little man's reactions on the new food. Well, jokes on us because he loved everything we gave him, which is a good thing. He's a growing boy we will find out on Monday how long he is and what he weighs these days.
Today we went to get grogs, (groceries) and he would just watch everyone and smile at them as they passed by. Quite a few people would stop and say hi to him and he'd just smile away. Social little butterfly. After we got back and put away the grogs, we started on the Christmas tree and decor. The holiday tunes were bumping on the radio and Kane had a blast watching us try to be 'crafty'. The tree looks pretty decent, he likes to touch the branches, and like always, he smiles at the tree too.
We have a crazy blizzard going on right now so we are all bundled up and watching some TV.
We will update again after his 6 month check up and after more SHOTS! Not for mom and dad but for little Kaner, more vaccinations.

Happy Holidays...The Schmidgalls.

This is rare because he's usually moving flailing his arms around like he's trying to fly and another moment caught on camera sitting, soon to slump to the side to grab another toy.

Lauren here...of course I had to add some pictures!
