4 months

Well, little Miss is 4 months old already.  The time sure flies when you're having fun...or busy with a baby and a toddler!  It is so strange for me to call Kane a toddler though, he seems like such a big boy now!  At times I have to remind myself that he isn't even 3 yet!  We are still working on the potty training with him...he is being a little stubborn about it, but we aren't really forcing the issue just yet.  He still has loads of energy at every moment of the day so I'm guessing that is why he doesn't want to take time out of his busy schedule to go to the bathroom!  Haha!  He has graduated to the toddler rail on his bed after successfully sleeping in a full sized bed with safety rails at Grandma Joni's house.  Actually, we did the toddler rail one night (which has an opening on half of the bed) and we found him sleeping on the floor!  So we did a safety rail instead, which covers the whole side but is shorter so he has been able to climb out (but he stays in at night!).  He is still great with Landry and likes talking to her and making her smile.
Miss Landry is a very happy baby and smiles all the time!  She is a good sleeper but is an early riser like her brother.  I guess I can't blame them though since we have to be up and out of the house pretty early for me to get to work.  She had a bout of RSV a couple of weeks ago.  That wasn't fun but she still remained as happy as possible through it.  We caught it early enough that she wasn't too miserable, but you could tell she didn't feel well.  She had a nasty cough and was congested so we had to give her nebulizer treatments.  She didn't like those at first but got used to them.  We got lucky as Cory was still at home after his surgery so she got to stay home with Dad and Grandma Pat helped out too.  I think the worst part was having to take her in to have her blood drawn and a chest x-ray done to make sure she didn't have a secondary infection (she spiked a fever a few days after the RSV diagnosis).  All was well but that chest x-ray was one of the most traumatic things I had to watch/be a part of.  It was an awful looking contraption and I had to hold her arms above her head while she was strapped into a plastic tube and sitting on a miniature bicycle seat....horrible!  She is growing like a weed though and eats great.  At her 4 month checkup she was 13lbs 6oz and 24in long.  We also started to give her rice cereal.  She is still trying to get used to that.  She is a little chatter box but it stingy with her giggles and she is finally starting to roll over.  Once she starts to get more mobile, I think we are in trouble!
Cory had his surgery about a month ago and is getting better every week.  The first week he was in quite a bit of pain (but probably doesn't remember it) but has been able to do more and more.  He wasn't able to lift more than 10 lbs the first 2 weeks so I was glad when that was lifted since he couldn't really do much with the kids.  He got more accomplished in the house in the few weeks that he was off than I did the whole 12 weeks of my maternity leave.  We are updating things in our house so he has been taking the lead on all of that (painting, remodeling, etc).  We will post pictures whenever everything is done.
Nothing is really new and exciting with me.  I am getting back into the swing of things at work now and getting busier (but that can change daily in the nursing home).  I definitely cherish the weekends when I can spend some better quality time with the kids and Cory or travel to see family.  We are definitely ready for some warmer weather though!  I have gotten back into running again but am ready to start running outside.  The treadmill is not the most exciting thing.
Alright, I will stop blabbering now as I probably have something around the house I should be doing.  Enjoy some pictures until next time!
